Wil, the princess of Northern Arrod, leaves exile and returns home to uncover secrets in her family and learn the truth about her curse. She finds her elder brother Baren now king and leading a war against the Southern Isles. Her plans take a dangerous turn and she finds herself fighting for her life. Wil and Loom must face their pasts in order to have a future, but their plans lead back to the evil marveler Pahn and to Baren, who is more unstable than ever.
