The clockmaker's daughter

In present day London, archivist Elodie discovers a satchel with contents that send her on a journey of discovery with characters whose stories interweave in a mysterious house, Birchwood Manor on the Upper Thames. In addition to the residents from 1862 through the present, the house is also haunted by a specter that traverses the house over the years and chronicles what she sees. Elodie lands upon the mystery of a girl's disappearance in the nineteenth century--and her connection to the artist--and through her research, comes to learn of how the lives of all the house's residents intertwine.
