Twelve-year-old Madison Kincaid is determined to help her defense attorney father defend a man accused of murdering his wife, but the murder case is not her only mystery to solve when she realizes that her best friend, Ann, is missing and Madison teams up with the new boy, Jake Stephenson, to scour the streets of Portland in order to find her friend.
