Spider-Man tries to save a new hero, Alpha, from both himself and the Jackal when the brash teenager's power draws the villain's murderous attention. Then, Spider-Man is caught in the middle when the original Hobgoblin, Roderick Kingsley, returns to claim the name from an upstart, Phil Urich, who has taken up the identity of Hobgoblin.
