Lalo the baby lightning dragon has been taken by Eko, a rogue Dragon Master, who ran away with her thunder dragon years before--now she is back looking to make allies of the other dragon masters, and so gain control over all of the dragons in Griffith.

The dark wizard Maldred has trapped dragon master Eko as well as wizards who have opposed him, all of them frozen in time and space inside a wall in his hideout; so Drake and Worm set out to seek the help of the Time Dragon--but when an imp named Beezel interferes Drake ends up back in his own past, and he must find a way to get back to the present.

The city of Remus is being torn apart by a duel between two wizards, and Drake, Petra, and Griffith have traveled there to assist a blind dragon master, Tessa, in sorting out the situation; using the sound dragon's unique power to manipulate sound waves, the dragon masters retrieve the Power Crystal which is embedded inside an unbreakable rock, but will it be able to absorb the cloud of uncontrolled magic that is threatening the city before it is too late?.
