A family makes its annual pilgrimage to decorate an evergreen tree with food for the forest animals at Christmastime.

Bear's friends awaken him the day before Christmas and help him to stay awake as they bake fruitcakes, fill stockings, and sing carols; then, while they sleep, he prepares his own surprise.

"It's the most wonderful time of the year in the Grumpy Woods--the Great Hibernation! Mayor Quill, Humphrey Hedgehog, and the rest of the animals are looking forward to some much-needed rest, but the Super Happy Party Bears want to add more YAY to the holiday--by delivering homemade presents! When the critters of the Grumpy Woods wish for a heavy snowfall to avoid the bears' cheer, they end up getting completely snowed in at the Grumpy Bog.
